About
Laila Zayed was born and raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago to Christian Palestinian parents. She is the Artistic and Creative Practices Coordinator for the Arab American Cultural Center at University of Illinois at Chicago, where she is also an undergraduate Industrial Design major. She is interested in combining elements of both design and politics to personally appeal to individuals in the MENA community, and has created several works of writing, sculpture, graphic art, etc., celebrating her Arab heritage in and out of the classroom.
