About
Abdul Aziz Shaban is a Syrian student who was raised in Saudi Arabia. He moved to Chicago in the fall of 2017. Abdul Aziz received his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering in the summer of 2019 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in civil engineering. During his Bachelor’s, Abdul Aziz was a member of the Honor’s college and represented the UIC team at the Great Lakes Conference competitions. Abdul Aziz won several scholarships from the Civil Engineering Professional Advisory Council (CEPAC). He now serves as a Research Assistant for the Arab American Cultural Center. He hopes that his work with the cultural center will provide a better understanding of the needs of Arab American students on campus.
