About
Sief Salameh is a junior majoring in Public Policy and Political Science with minors in Urban Studies and International Policy. Sief has been a PPIA Fellow; a Benjamin Gilman Scholar; The Supporting Excellence Endowment Recipient; American English Ambassador for the U.S. Chinese Culture Center; Former City Captain for NextGenVest.; and last but not least Outreach Coordinator for the ArabAmCC. Sief is interested in becoming a US Diplomat. He learned that to work with marginalized communities, one must continue to find ways to discuss the uniqueness of everyone’s experiences using an intersectional framework that dismantles the idea of us versus them. Every day, Sief is motivated by the movements and collective efforts of people making this society a more inclusive and equitable space for everyone. Being a Muslim, who is born in Jordan as a result of the generational Palestinian diaspora and coming to the US at age three, Sief understood what it meant to be different from the majority of white Americans. He quickly learned that America isn’t an actual portrayal of media representation, but rather a combination of hard-working individuals that strive for a better life, matched with limited opportunities that have historically favored some groups over others. Sief aims to break stereotypes and prejudices and wants to create a foundation for discussions based on experience and history, all while being socially tolerable of differences. Sief feels indebted to the many sacrifices and struggles that have come before to enable him to learn and pursue his goals for a brighter future for all.
Sief worked at the Center Academic Year 2018-2019 and 2019-2020.
