About

Abdallah Altamimi is a first generation Palestinian-American from Chicago’s adjacent Southwest suburbs. He is a History major and GLAS minor with a broad interest in human ecology, especially as it pertains to development and dependency. He believes strongly in solidarity among marginalized groups as a guiding principle to navigating and learning from shared and/or similar struggles, as well as the fundamental interconnectedness of these struggles in the wider context. Through his employment with the center, he hopes to aid in the worthwhile efforts that the Arab-American Cultural Center undertakes on behalf of UIC’s Arab-Americans while honing his skills to be able to better serve the community, on campus and off of it.
