Join the Arab American Cultural Center and the Counseling Center at UIC in a discussion about having conversations with family and loved ones about stress and burnout.

Event will be facilitated by Nesreen Hasan and Maria Fakhouri

Maria Fakhouri is a post-doctoral Intern at the Counseling Center. She is a PhD Candidate in Clinical Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology where she also received her MA. Growing up in the Middle East, Maria did not find a lot of places to talk about mental well-being despite the need for it. So, as she studies at the University of Toronto, she decided this would be an important area to go into professionally.

Nesreen Hasan is an MA student in her final semester at the Jane Adams School of Social Work at UIC. Nesreen is also the Program Coordinator at the ArabAmCC and a strong advocate and supporter of students. Nesreen runs our Student Support program.
