Join the Arab American Cultural Center in celebrating our graduates of 2024. Enjoy an evening filled with celebrations of the accomplishments of our students, honoring their efforts and that of their families, listening to words of wisdom, and enjoying cultural performances.

Keynote Address: Dr. Thaer Ahmad

Thaer Ahmad, MD is a board certified emergency medicine physician at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Thaer also serves as the Assistant Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Advocate Christ and the Global Health Director for the emergency department at Advocate Christ. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. And a board member of MedGlobal a medical humanitarian NGO that works in Gaza. Thaer serves as the medical ethics director for the emergency department at Advocate Christ. He has been to Gaza/Palestine, Syria, Jordan, Turkey, Kenya, and Greece as a part of projects that focus on strengthening local healthcare capacity.

This event is part of Arab American Heritage month events. The Arab American Cultural Center is organizing a series of events to celebrate Arab American Heritage Month during April. The state of Illinois designated April as Arab American Heritage Month (AAHM) in 2018 and the Department of State recognized it nationally in 2021. During April, Arabs and Arab Americans are honored and celebrated for their historical contributions, culture, traditions, history, arts, and overall social presence as a community in the United States.
