Against Erasure: Preserving Palestinian Sign Language

A Palestinian Sign Language Workshop

Join the UIC Arab American Cultural Center, the UIC Disability Cultural Center, and the Olive Guardians for a workshop to learn basic words and phrases in Palestinian Sign Language, the native sign language used by the Palestinian deaf community! Follow along with lessons designed by deaf Palestinians from Gaza, Nesma Kreyyem and Noor Mohammed, and presented by Grace Lester, a deaf Chicago-based activist. Learn about language preservation in the midst of genocide and cultural erasure, and how access and resistance are necessarily intertwined.

Hybrid Event: in Person at 101 Taft Hall (ArabAmCC) and on zoom: Meeting Registration - Zoom
