About

Dorrah Alharbi graduated from UIC in May 2021 with a major in history and minoring in Arabic. Dorrah is an Iraqi American residing in the southwest side of Chicago. Her role at the Cultural Center is to conduct interviews and collect archival material for the Oral History, Archival, and Storytelling Project. Previously during AY 2020-2021, she helped the Center develop a framework for collecting and archiving material data revolving around student activism at UIC and other campuses. Her field of concentration focuses on the modern Middle East and has a special interest surrounding different narratives of identity, daily life, and the diaspora. She is passionate about understanding societies and cultures of the Arab world and is applying to continue graduate studies in Art History.
