DESCRIPTION:UIC Campus Launch: Arab Americans Beyond Erasure and Profiling    Presentations and commentary by:    Nadine Naber, Professor, Gender and Women's Studies, Global Asian Studies, and Anthropology at UIC (Report PI)    Nicole Nguyen, Associate Professor Criminology, Law, and Justice UIC (report co-author)    Zeina Zaatari, Director, Arab American Cultural Center (Report co-author)    Nadiah Alyafai, UIC Student (Author, Expert Commentary)    Dima Khalidi, Executive Director, Palestine Legal (Author, Expert Commentary).    UIC faculty, administrators, and staff are especially encouraged to attend this event, which aims to provide knowledge and understanding about Arab American communities at UIC and in Chicagoland. Speakers will share findings from UIC's IRRPP report about the status of racial and economic justice for Arab Americans in Chicagoland. Themes include: demographics and migration patterns, access to social services, and engagements with racism in these areas: education, policing, and employment.
