Before the Door Closes: Mental Health and Well-Being Workshop will be facilitated by Souzan Naser. Souzan is an Associate Professor and Counselor at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, IL. She was born in Palestine and raised on the southwest side of Chicago, in the heart of one of the largest concentrated Arab American communities in the US. Souzan is a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has a MA in Social Work from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and a Doctorate in Educational Stewardship, Leadership and Learning from the University of St. Francis. Her doctoral dissertation addresses the paucity of Arab American cultural competency training available for counseling professionals.
